Dr. Steve Barron, D.V.M., is a proud native of Troy, Alabama. He is a graduate of Charles Henderson High School and Troy State University where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree with a double major in Biology and Chemistry and a minor in Physics in three years. He then attended Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and received his doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1998.
While attending Auburn he was the recipient of numerous awards including a Phi Zeta scholar award, the Meade Scholarship recipient and the Gentle Doctor Award which is awarded by votes from his professors and peers. He has practiced veterinary medicine since his graduation in 1998 and owned several hospitals throughout his career in Enterprise, Montgomery and Troy, Alabama. Dr. Barron practiced large animal medicine and surgery for 5 years upon his graduation and found his major interests are in small animal services; surgery; primarily including orthopedic and reproductive medicine. Dr. Barron is married to Missy Rushing of Troy, Alabama. His most prized accomplishments are his children. TWO sets of twins! Clay and Trevor and Luke and Alissa. His hobbies center on and around his family’s interests of sports. He enjoys hunting and fishing, coaching baseball and if it is after hours he can usually be spotted on a baseball or softball field with his family in the surrounding areas of Troy, Alabama. |
